Stephanie & Ryan

August 22, 2010

Stephanie and Ryan were married at the Portland Yacht Club, without a cloud in the sky. The guys got ready on her dad’s boat (you’ll see that boat in a few of these photographs) and Stephanie wore her grandmothers purple ring… I just love all the details in this wedding. Go on and take a look at the rest…

The bridesmaids had checked out a few joke books from the library – they were ready, just in case Stephanie started to cry. Those books came in handy… Great thinking ladies!

Stephanie made these Maritime flags as a gift for her dad’s birthday.

Sharon & Craig

August 19, 2010

Sharon and Craig were married in beautiful Hood River, OR. Their wedding was actually our first here – we’ve done in and around Portland, but never outside our front door. Sharon’s family is originally from Georgia (you might remember we photographed their engagement session a couple months back), but I’ll say it again – it felt like home. They had many family and friends travel a long way to witness their day… and what a perfect day it was…

Christina & Dave

August 9, 2010

This wedding took us all the way to the other side of the lower 48 – Jacksonville, Florida… and directly to the sweetest couple ever – Christina and Dave. Not only do wedding photographers spend the day with the couple (so, yay for a great one!), we also spend the day with the wedding party and family. So it was a major bonus that we L-O-V-E all of them! (notice the caps and how it’s all spelled out – that’s when you know it’s serious.) These girls in Christina’s wedding party, they might want to consider jobs as professional bridesmaids. Everyone just made our hearts happy…

Notice the wine bottles – Christina designed those labels herself. Pretty sweet, huh?

*On a little bit of a side – my daughter (Amparo – 2.5 y) was looking through these photos with me. She saw Christina and exclaimed, “She’s a princess!”. Amparo is the best princess spotter.

Lindsay

July 15, 2010

I just love pregnant women – and you know, I think most people do. You just can’t help but smile when you see a lady who’s growing a child. I mean, growing a child (!!) It’s pretty miraculous. And I was so happy to meet Lindsay. She’s due in September with her first baby. They’ll be surprised with the gender at delivery. And I get to take pictures of the newborn bundle – I bet your jealous. Isn’t Lindsay just all belly and so much cuteness?

Allison & Jacob

July 9, 2010

Allison and Jacob were married in beautiful Lexington KY. The outside ceremony couldn’t have gone any better and I loved that the programs also doubled as a fan – and I guess, tripled as a game (wedding Seek & Find on the back). Such a great idea – kept guests busy and happy (not that they weren’t already happy). Not only did they have great ideas, but very good taste too. Allison’s dress was so pretty – my favorite part, the buttons down the back. Take a peek into their day… and make sure to take note of Jacob hugging both moms… such love!

Angie & David

July 7, 2010

I first met Angie in High-school – to be more specific, in Mr. Reynold’s class. She was always so sweet and cute and funny… and she still is. I was so super happy to see her at a wedding I photographed last year (actually she was a guest at two of them) – and I was even happier when she booked me for her wedding in September.

The C Family

July 2, 2010

I’ve been photographing these girls since they were babies – well, almost babies. And I’m pretty sure that Dorothy is taller than me now (I don’t want to stand too close… I don’t need the proof). They’re one of the wonderful families that attend our church back home… I always look forward to Sundays in Louisville. These girls are the funnest, silliest girls – you need a cheer up? Just see them, they’ll have you all fixed up in no time. They’re mom and dad are pretty great too ; )

Aimee & Craig

July 2, 2010

Meet Aimee and Craig (or “Pooh”, as he’s known to his high school buds) – you don’t have to include the quotations when you say it. Pooh and Brian have been friends for a long time – high school doesn’t really seem all that long ago… but really, sigh, it kind of is. We were  so super pumped when they asked us to photograph their wedding, April 2011. And I loved the couple of hours I spent with them last week grabbing these engagement shots… they are so, just so good together. They’re a perfect pairing. April will be here before we know it! (and yay for that!!)

So that new email address, brendajobrks@gmail, stopped letting me send out emails. I fixed the problem with the old one and now I’m back at that address (brendajobrooks@gmail.com). I know, I know – could I be anymore confusing? Probably not. But now everything is up and working as it should be (except Facebook, but I’ve officially given up on that) – don’t get me started…

Hope you all are having a happy week – weather you’re chilly in OR or hot, hot, hot in KY…

Starting over

June 4, 2010

hello everybody – I was able to get access to my email again (thank you Brian – you are pretty amazing), but all of my contacts were deleted so I couldn’t notify everybody. I also can’t send out of that email address anymore, they suspect I’m sending spam (imagine that). So I decided to start over – if you need me, you can reach me at brendajobrks@gmail.com (the same as my old one, minus the o’s) or I can also be found at brenda@bbandcompany.com
Worse things could’ve happened, but this is pretty frustrating…
but moving on…

Have a sunshiny weekend!
